| Less than a hundred years old, the process of
concrete staining was first utilized by Frank Lloyd Wright, one
of the first architects
to begin using concrete throughout his many structures built during
the early 1900s. In 1927, the first large public concrete staining
project was completed at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National
Park. 80 years later, the results have withstood heavy foot traffic,
evidencing the high durability of concrete. Axel Lundquist, reputable
architect in 1947 Hollywood, described concrete staining as “the
most carefully guarded secret for a number of years.” No
longer the secret it once was, acid-stained concrete is reaching
new levels of popularity. |
